Dr. Hellard also enjoys treating exotic animals such as lizards and pocket pets. |
In 2001, Dr. Hellard graduated from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland with a degree in applied animal behavior and animal welfare. She also trained under behavior specialists at Tufts University and Michigan State University in order to learn more about pet behavior consultations and behavioral research. Dr. Hellard has offered behavior consultations since 1998.

Jennifer Wantz has had animals of varying sorts and sizes in her home since she was a child and currently has the nickname of Dr. Dolittle amongst her friends. Jennifer has a degree in Marketing from WSU and has decided to direct the second half of her life to her passion for animals. Kathy Ford has loved animals since she was a child. Kathy received her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Cincinnati and taught elementary education for many years. Throughout those years, she always kept a pet in her classroom. Kathy also bred rabbits with her sister when she was young, and helped her own children show rabbits when they were old enough. Kathy's family also boasts an energetic yellow lab named Kalli. Kathy is a proud wife and mother of three children. She opted to stay at home with the kids until all of them were in school, but now she has discovered WCVC and is a great asset to our team. |
Kathleen Dumont is a born and raised Cincinnatian. She grew up with lots of animals in her house; dogs, cats, rabbits, frogs, lizards and even hermit crabs. Kathleen went to Cincinnati State for nursing but decided she liked working with animals more. In her spare time, Kathleen models, loves football (expecially UC, go Bearcats!), plays the flute and loves fishing at her family's lake house in Kentucky. She also loves being with her family and boyfriend of five years. Kathleen has a fun loving labradoodle, a cat and two rabbits. She really enjoys working at WCVC and looks forward to her future here. |
Emily Doan was born in Indianapolis, IN and came to Cincinnati via Reno, NV and Stuttgart, Germany. She currently lives in Mason with her husband, one-year-old son and three dogs. She received her Bachelor's degree in Art History from WSU in Dayton, but decided that spending time with animals is where her heart lies. Emily is a self-proclaimed old-school geek who enjoys reading, writing, video games, staying up way too late and imbibing way too much caffeine. She's worked in the veterinary field for about three years now, enjoys every day of it and can't imagine a life without pets. |
Ashley Dennon is currently going to school at Raymond Walters College for pre-vet science. Once finished there, she plans to go to UC to obtain a degree in Biology (animal science). Her next step will be vet school - where the perfect fit will be the combination of a great program and warm weather. She loves animals and has always wanted to help them. Having this experience will give her the skills she plans to use for the rest of her life. She has one dog and a horse - their names are Cayanne and Sookie. In her free time she works with her horse and plans to start competing western with her. |
